NIA Celebrates 25th Anniversary
The evening was highlighted by a performance by the New York City Department
of Sanitation Emerald Society bagpipe band, the opening words and prayer from
newly installed pastor of Regina Pacis Church Monsignor Ronald Marino, and the
glorious introductions of and acceptance speeches by this year’s honorees.
NIA President Michael Bove, along with NIA Board Members and staff, were present
and helped organize and run the annual event. “This is a special evening for the NIA,
our community and especially the founding members of our organization,” said Mr. Bove.“Seeing how far we’ve come and how much we’ve grown is a testament to the vision of our founders, the efforts of our board and the hard work of our staff,” continued Mr. Bove.
Both Ms. Cino and Mr. Bove commended the work of this year’s honorees for their
outstanding contributions to the community. “Recognizing the honorees is our way of
saying thanks and showing our appreciation for those individuals who make important contributions to our community that often go unrecognized,” said Ms. Cino. “They truly
are the backbone of our community,” added Mr. Bove.
