NIA's Eleventh Annual Dinner a Success

The NIA held its 11th annual awards dinner to celebrate the contributions of individuals that have touched the lives of so many in the community.  The festivities, held at Gargiulo’s Restaurant in Coney Island, drew a crowd of nearly 500 guests.

This year’s honorees were “Man of the Year” award recipient Ronald Cohen, Senior Advisor of the NYC Mayor's Office; “Woman of the Year” award recipient Karina Costantino, Superintendent of Community School District 20 of the NYC Department of Education; “Educational Leadership” award recipient Bayan Cadotte, Principal of Public School 186; “Exemplary Leadership in Public Service and Law Enforcement ” award recipient Lt. James J. Woods, Lieutenant Special Assignments of the NYPD's Patrol Borough Brooklyn South; “Humanitarian” award recipient Dennis Schock, trustee for Local 831, Uniformed Sanitationworker's Association; and “Outstanding Community Service ” award recipient Dyker Heights Civic Association, Fran Vella-Marrone, President.

Rosa Casella, along with NIA Board members and staff, greeted and thanked all present for the tremendous support, and commended the honorees for their outstanding contributions to the community.
