Emergency Preparedness Meeting

At the NIA's June 2006 community meeting, representatives from the New York City Office of Emergency Management (OEM) explained to all in attendance how to best be prepared to deal with any kind of emergency in our city.

The meeting, led by Herman Schaffer, an educator from OEM, and Louis Trimboli, team chief for CERT (Community Emergency Response Team) Brooklyn 10/11, discussed how to react to natural or man-made disasters and how volunteers support emergency services during an emergency.
