NIA Sponsors Senior Proms

The NIA joined with Assemblyman Peter Abbate and Councilman Vincent Gentile to sponsor two "Senior Proms" at Micali Terrace that brought together 500 senior citizens from the community. The two proms were held during May and were chaperoned by volunteers from the NIA's OST After School program at I.S. 281. The festive event was a rousing success and enjoyed by all the seniors.

The seniors obtained their tickets to this free event by participating (and winning!) various contests at their local senior center. All the party goers came dressed in their best suits and dresses and enjoyed their evening of dinner and dancing.
