As part of the 2008 Great American Clean-Up, students from the NIA after school program at Cavallaro Junior High School (I.S. 281) joined with members of Community Board 11 and helped clean-up their neighborhood on April 12th.
The clean-up focused on the removal of flyers posted on utility poles throughout the community. These flyers have become an eyesore and contribute to the litter throughout the area.
The students were led in the clean-up by NIA After School Site Coordinator at Intermediate School 281 Susan Czarnecki and NIA President Michael Bove.
